Dear Parents/Guardians:

*PLEASE NOTICE THE DIFFERENT TIMES SCHEDULED FOR REHEARSALS! Mr. Lucas requests that all members learn/memorize their lines by March 10th!! PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE~ please do this at home! : )

*Please remember to have your child bring in their scripts and to bring comfortable shoes to practice.
*Please let the office know that should your child be sick and cannot attend rehearsal to also let Mrs. Miller know for attendance purposes.
*Also please pick up your child promptly at the scheduled dismissal times and be sure to come in to sign-out your child. This is for safety purposes.
*If there is a snow day practice will be cancelled and will resume as scheduled next day.

Lake County Council PTA Awards

We are looking for nominees for the following awards. If you have someone you would like to nominate, please send them to kwivell2000@yahoo.com or place them in an envelope marked for Chestnut PTA Awards and drop them off at the school office.

Rookie Volunteer of the Year:
-Must be a PTA Member
-Must reflect the objectives of the PTA
-Must have less than two years PTA involvement
-Include info on what your nominee has done for our PTA to qualify them to receive the award

Above & Beyond Award:
-Nominee must be a PTA member
-Nominee must reflect the objectives of the PTA
-Award is to recognize individuals who have given outstanding support to PTA
-Explain how htis nominee has gone above and beyond in 250 words or less

Teacher of the Year:
-Nominee must be a PTA member
-Nominee must be involved in the innovative educational process of chldren and support the objectives of PTA
-Provide information on PTA involvement, Education, Professional Experience, Professional Organizations, Innovative Educational Program Initiated by the Nominee, Nominee's statement of recommendations, Nominee's educaitonal philosophy (the last two of 250 words or less each)

Volunteer of the Year:
-Nominee must be a PTA member
-Nominee must reflect the objectives of PTA
-List PTA experience on any committees, projects, programs or special events
-How has this enabled our PTA to better serve students and families
-Explain why our PTA feels this person should be chosen to receive PTA volunteer of the year

Chestnut PTA Meeting

Our Wednesday, February 11th PTA meeting is a very important one! Not only will we be discussing our upcoming events, including the Wizard of Oz, we will be voting on our very important Nominating Committee, whose job it is to select next year's slate of officers. We also will be appointing a new Secretary to this year's board. If you would like a voice in what is happening, please make sure you attend this VERY IMPORTANT meeting. It will be held at 6:30 PM in the Music Room of the school.

Over 100 Students Auditioned!

Almost 120 students auditioned for the roles in our upcoming production of the Wizard of Oz. Forty-four students were able to be cast in on-stage roles and are in the process of being notified of their parts and rehearsal schedule, which is also posted on this site. All other children will be asked to help with the play in March. Congratulations to every single child who took part in the process. We are all so proud of you!!!!
