98 children auditioned for Wizard of Oz

Congratulations to each and every child who tried out for the Wizard of Oz tonight. Each one should be extremely proud of their accomplishment! It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there for a role and each child did EXTREMELY well! Parents will be notified when their child needs to next come to the school for their part in the play, whether for a speaking role, munchkin role and behind the scenes role. Great Job Everyone!

Chestnut PTA Meeting

The Chestnut PTA meeting will be held Wednesday, January 14th at 6:30 PM. We'll be given a tutorial on how to use the new parent portal to access our children's work in school. We'll also be discussing what is coming up next with the Wizard of Oz play and more. Please plan to attend this important meeting.

Wizard of Oz Information Meeting

If you or your child is interested in participating in the Wizard of Oz bi-lingual production, a special informational meeting will be held on Monday, January 12th at 6:30 PM in the Chestnut Cafeteria.

Auditions for the play will be held Thursday, January 15th at 3:30 PM in the Chestnut Elementary gym.

Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.

The play will be presented twice: the first performance will be for students on Friday, April 3rd during the school day. A performance for the public will be held on Saturday, April 4th at 3 PM. Stay tuned for more detailed information.

Holiday Cookie and Movie Extravaganza

Friday at 6:30 PM, a special showing of The Polar Express will be held at Chestnut Elementary's gym. Everyone is asked to bring one to two dozen cookies to share. Beverages will be provided. A very special guest will make an appearance after the movie and EVERYONE will have a chance to shop at our Holiday Book Store...where every book is FREE!!!! courtesy of Half-Price Books.

Free Budgeting Class Before December 10th PTA Meeting

Lisa Siciliano-Miller of the Ohio State University Extension Office will offer a free class on creating a Family Budget on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:30 PM. It will be held in the Music room at Chestnut. It is open to all Chestnut parents and staff. Immediately following will be our regular PTA meeting. We'll be talking about our Holiday Movie/Cookie Extravaganza, holiday parties, our Artist in Residence/Wizard of Oz play and much more!.
